Name: Dan
From: Dan Vs
Appearance:
Dan is a short, black haired man with beady green eyes. His hair is often extremely messy, demonstrating his poor hygiene. He has a small soul patch under his chin, as well as a five o'clock shadow. Typically, he wears a black, short-sleeve t-shirt with the word "JERK" printed in bold white. He also wears regular-style jeans and black boots.

Age: 36
Gender: Male
Personality: Dan has a hard time expressing himself as the rest of us might. He usually communicates through anger and sarcasm, whether you are a friend, a foe, or an acquaintance. His anger is at its worst when you provoke him, or as he puts it, "wrong him." Anything that may insult him, irritate him, or get in his way will immediately lead Dan to plan the subject's downfall. He won't rest until he feels he has repaid you for his troubles. He often displays rash behavior, as well as paranoid tendencies. He seems to believe everyone and everything is out to get him, causing him to shut out new activities and people with a fiery passion. Despite his short-tempered nature, Dan is incredibly sensitive, even if he wants others to believe otherwise. As explained above, he takes everything personally. He only thinks of himself and "the enemy", and is ridiculously selfish. On a day where he has yet to be enraged, which is rare, he is typically a calm and good guy, although the slightest argument may lead to a complete overreaction. Whether or not he understands, "right and wrong" is unaffected. For example, if he wants something, and can't pay for it, he's perfectly happy knocking you out to grab it. If he is already in a bad mood, he will treat those around him with distain. Even to his closest friends, which are already scarce. Dan seems unaware that punching, attacking, or stealing from his friends is considered bad behavior.
Dan often demonstrates childish behavior, such as grabbing something that isn't his, snuggling with a teddy bear, or the belief in Santa Claus. The only person he treats with consistent kindness is his pet cat, Mr. Mumbles (a female cat, by the way). He is also shown to be "fond" of his best friend Chris, the only person who can stand to be around Dan for a lengthly period of time. When Dan and Chris finally found themselves in a battle for victory, he discovered that despite how angry he was with Chris, Dan could never kill his best friend. Therefore, if someone spent enough time with Dan, he might come to care for them. He would only show it in his own "special" way, until it counts.
Dan is also surprisingly intelligent, when he wants to be. He seems to have an amazing command of Latin and the English language, a surprising range of knowledge from history to modern crises, as well as a various collection of weapons, none considered standard, from a bow and arrow to a ballista. Despite his intelligence, Dan prefers immediate, more ill-formed revenge plans, rather then a more carefully crafted plan. He tends to jump to paranoid conclusions that occasionally turn out to be correct. This shows that despite his impulsive behavior, he can use the tools in front of him for careful deduction.
Backstory: Dan's history is mostly left in the dark. We receive hints now and then that his home life has much to be desired, including the fact that his parents were never home and the television raised him. His parents are divorced and he was mostly raised by his mother.
Other tidbits from Dan's past include a lucky hand grenade and a drawing of him burning down a school. The latter caused him to fondly note "high school."
Moral Standing: On his good days, Dan is Chaotic Neutral. His intense anger issues prevent him from realizing that his behavior could be considered "evil." He has a fuzzy moral code, meaning he will jump from one end of the extreme to the other, often confusing those around him. He usually doesn't take out his anger on someone who isn't involved with the current drama. He'll help out those in trouble if they are on his good side. His obsessive, vengeful tendencies influence his every action. It is important to know, however, that he has a few lines he won't cross as long as his enemy never crosses them. When a werewolf scratched his car, he chased it down for a month until he found the werewolf's apartment. When Chris suggested killing the beast, Dan reacted with shock and instead keyed the werewolf's car, calling it "balance." His definition of "too far" varies, depending on who or what, how bad, etc.
Once Dan has achieved his goal, he loses complete interest it. Notably, Dan began his usual streak of revenge after being refused a refund at a "Wild West" park. After engaging in a string of wild west tropes and toppling the park's corrupt sheriff, Dan realized he had the ultimate Wild West experience and chose not to keep his refund.
Dreams: Dan only seeks to fulfill his goal: seek retribution against all who have wronged him. His attempts at a normal life have always been interrupted by a revenge plot. When he realized that he was indulging in self-destructive behavior, he sought to find a hobby until he was distracted by an old foe and turned him back to revenge.
Fears: Dan is afraid of things that make him seem paranoid, such as the paranormal or people out to get him. However, he scoffs at police, judges, government officials, and the law. The only person Dan was truly afraid of was "The Impostor" or "The Telemarketer," a mysterious man who stole Dan's identity. When he returned to seek revenge against Dan, he planned to drive Dan insane. After the Impostor managed to get Dan locked in jail, he became the first person to successfully beat Dan at his own game.
Extra: Dan has "a strange patchwork of knowledge," as Chris puts it. He knows who built Mount Rushmore, but he has know clue where it is. He seems to have a good grasp on Shakespeare's works, and a large knowledge of famous historical figures.
Dan has been maced so many times he gained an immunity. This had proved to be the same for tear gas.

Writing Sample: On a rooftop across from the local park, Dan looked through his telescope.
"See that, Mr. Mumbles?" he murmured to his animal companion. He pointed towards a trash can next to a bench. "That trash has dynamite all over it! Once that jogger activates the trip wire, BOOM! Then, he'll never run by my driveway and make me late for the movies EVER AGAIN!" The scruffy man laughed wickedly as he imagined the explosion.
Mr. Mumbles simply purred and licked her hair.
"Quiet! He's coming!"
Sure enough, a man wearing a white t-shirt, red shorts, and a blue headband strode down the block. Dan leaned forward in anticipation, as the jogger came closer and closer to his imminent doom.
"Yes... yes..."
The jogger reached the trash can and continued walking down the street.
Dan blinked. "WHAAAAATT?!?!?" He climbed down the ladder toward the trash can. "What a rip-off! I take the time out of my day to steal dynamite, and it turns out to be a dud! Oh, someone's paying for thi-"
*click*
It was at that moment that Dan realized that jogger had unwittingly run over his trap. He also realized, a moment too late, that he had fallen for the oldest Looney Tunes joke in the book.
Sure enough, a giant ball of fire erupted, destroying the trash can and pushing Dan upward into the sky. Dan screamed and swore as he flew up... and then down. With a powerful CRUNCH, the unkempt jerk fell upon his back.
Dan groaned loudly before glaring up at the sky. His fists shook upward as he unleashed a mighty scream:
"JOOOOOGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
